To transition, we are rolling out Zoom Phone in several stages.

Phase 1 (Early February): Internal testing & preparation

ITS is currently proving out the deployment steps and testing the system internally. This “Pre-Pilot” phase ensures that all technical configurations are ready before moving on to a larger group.

Phase 2 (February): The pilot group

In February, the system will be deployed to all ITS staff, the project team, and members of the steering committee. This phase allows us to gather feedback and refine support processes using a campus group.

Phase 3 (March – June): General campus rollout

The majority of the campus will transition to Zoom Phone during the spring and early summer of 2026. To manage this transition, the rollout is organized into “Flights” (phased groups).

Important note on scheduling: At this time, the specific divisions and departments assigned to each flight are in the process of being finalized. We are currently determining the sequence for these groups to ensure everyone has adequate support and training. Once these determinations are made, we will communicate the specific dates and flight assignments directly to all faculty and staff.

Tentative schedule for each flight:

  • March: Training sessions begin; deployment of Flights 1 and 2.
  • April: Training sessions; deployment of Flights 3 and 4.
  • May: Training sessions; deployment of Flights 5 and 6.
  • June: Training sessions; deployment of Flight 7
    • including other specialized requirements.

Phase 4 (June): Emergency and health services

The final stage of the project includes the transition of our essential emergency and health services:

  • Bailey Health Center
  • Public Safety
